Usefull for susained rolls on gongs and tam tams of any size, or use an individual mallet for striking gongs at softer dynamics.
 
Design 
The 1.5" solid maple core and thick felt produces a deep fundamental, but is light enough to handle with ease.  You also get two (one for each hand.)
