| Eric J. Willie currently serves as the Assistant Professor of Percussion in the School of Music and Art at Tennessee Technological University (TTU) in Cookeville, TN. At TTU, Eric directs the Percussion Ensembles, arranges for the Drum Line and teaches Applied Percussion. In addition to his duties at TTU, Eric performs with the Nief-Norf and Ecletic Chamber Players, serves as Vice President for the Tennessee Chapter of the Percussive Arts Society, and is a member of the PAS Education Committee.
Eric has performed as an extra percussionist with the Nashville Symphony and Nashville Ballet, the Bowling Green Symphony, Murfreesboro Symphony, and the Lexington Philharmonic. As a member of the University of North Texas Wind Symphony, he recorded alongside marimba virtuosos Keiko Abe and Mark Ford as well as recording with his contemporary percussion ensemble, the Bain Percussion Group. In addition, he has appeared at the World Saxophone Congress, the Bands of American National Percussion Festival, and at the 2007 and 2003 Percussive Arts Society International Conventions.
As a marching percussion arranger and educator, Eric has arranged and/or taught for the University of North Texas drum line, the University of Kentucky drum line and for such drum corps as the Madison Scouts, Carolina Crown, Spirit, Americanos and Southwind.
Eric has presented clinics throughout the Midwest and Southeastern United States, including the Sixty-First Annual Midwest Clinic. His articles have appeared in The Instrumentalist and Percussive Notes, and he has contributed educational resources for Sabian Cymbals, Black Swamp Percussion, Evans Drumheads, and Innovative Percussion, Inc.
Eric holds a DMA in Percussion Performance from the University of North Texas (ABD), a MM from the University of Kentucky and a BS in Music Education from Austin Peay State University.
